Why Get Certified?
With around one in seven people in the UK identifying as neurodivergent, a significant proportion of the workforce is still navigating systems and cultures that weren’t designed with different ways of thinking in mind. The UK Neurodiversity Recognition Scheme was created to give individuals and organisations a clear and credible way to show they are addressing these potential gaps and building workplaces where neurodivergent colleagues can genuinely thrive.
Pathfinder
Building the Foundations of Neuroinclusion
Pathfinder is awarded to those who have made a committed start in understanding and implementing neuroinclusion. At this level, there is clear evidence of foundational learning alongside practical action. This may include applying workplace adjustments, developing or using How to Work With Me profiles, and building awareness of how environments and processes can impact different thinking styles.
Trailblazer
From Commitment to Consistency
Trailblazer recognises those who have moved beyond initial commitment and are actively embedding neuroinclusive practices into everyday actions and decision-making. At this level, there is clear consistency in applying inclusive approaches, alongside a growing ability to recognise and respond to diverse needs. This includes contributing to psychologically safe environments, embracing inclusive culture, and integrating neuroinclusion across ways of working.
Visionary
Where Inclusion Becomes Identity
The Visionary tier is the highest level of recognition, awarded to those who have fully integrated neuroinclusion into their identity, culture, and approach. At this level, neuroinclusion is embedded in decision-making, behaviours, and ways of working, with a clear and intentional strategy guiding sustained impact. This is demonstrated through strong alignment between values and practice, influence on wider thinking and culture, and measurable positive outcomes.
Business or Individual?
Choosing between the Organisation and Individual pathways depends on the kind of impact you want to make. If you’re looking to strengthen neuroinclusive practice across a whole workplace by shaping culture, processes and the full employee experience, then the organisational route is designed for you. It recognises how companies build capability over time and gives a clear framework for embedding neuroinclusion into everyday operations.
If your focus is on your own learning, confidence and professional development, the individual pathway may be the better fit. This route is ideal for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of neurodiversity, apply inclusive approaches in their role and demonstrate personal commitment to creating environments where different thinking styles are understood and valued.
Both pathways offer a structured way to grow, learn and contribute; the right choice simply depends on whether you’re aiming to influence change at an organisational level or strengthen your own practice as a professional.
